DECEMBER 2012 || Album of the month #3

Being a die hard Kate Nash fan, this month's album was hands down the easiest pick for me; even if it's only an EP. I've spoke previously about Kate's astounding return to the music scene in 2012 with high hopes for her newest album (which is yet to be released in full) "Girl Talk" but until then we were able to get our taste buds tingling with "Death Proof - EP". Obviously being an EP were only given a small selection of tracks from the upcoming album, which are:

1. Death Proof
2. Fri-end?
3. I want a boyfriend
4. All Day and All of the Night
5. May Queen

In comparison to Kate's known pop chart hits such as "Foundations" and "Mouth Wash" a more personal and raw side is now exposed to the music industry which in turn has already been slandered through her single "UNDER-ESTIMATE THE GIRL" which was written in 24 hours. I personally feel this new punk image Kate is sending out is a fresh approach as she wishes to almost reinvent herself through heavier guitar rifts and rougher vocals.

Besides all the critics initial reactions, I feel 2013 is going to be the year Kate comes running back horns at the ready to produce some pure sounds for those sick of the generic pop songs. If you haven't heard of Kate's previous or new music then check both out, I will leave the video to her known 2007 single "Foundations" off her "Made of bricks" album along with her latest video "Death Proof." What are your opinions on the punk Kate Nash, was it risky and distasteful or has she done something a lot of musicians would be scared of? Comment below!
