INTERVIEWED | Megan Ward

Megan is a wonderful lady who's blog I came across via friends, finding out she did her own customized shirts, jewellery etc I decided she would be one of the perfect people to have for my second interview. Megan is a 20 year old who studies 'Fashion & Design', she has a history in the business with a wonderful creative side. This is how we got on.

Leavers Do Collective Haul

As  I mentioned in my post yesterday my leavers do, the last time I'll see everyone from my school year is tomorrow. Now I originally opted for a straight dress as it has become the fashionable, on trend thing right now. I made a post of this, showing you the dress and shoes I would wear, however I've made a decision to scrap that and go for the more traditional big puffy dress.

Now with people close to me who haven't seen the dress, I'm keeping it under wraps right now so I won't be presenting a photograph to you all, but on Sunday I will have a post up on the entire day/night which will include numerous photos of the dress so that is all to come. These following items are things I've picked up for the day and to help with the preparation.

The first item is something I've never tried before and it's Katy Perry's own brand on fake eyelashes, now there's 4 different varieties and I'd like to say they go more fuller and extreme between all 4. The ones I chose were 'Cool Kitty' personally I would say these are the number 2 on extreme and fullness almost like the ones she is wearing in the photo.

I haven't worn these before and I've only bought one packet but after researching into the brand 'Eylure' and those who have tried out all three products these seem to be the favourite across the board. Adding the extra volume and length needed without over exaggerating the appearance of false lashes. These lashes are £5.95 each which is a decent price I'd like to think, but a review on whether they're worth it will be up soon.

This product is just a general re-purchase as my current 'Peep Show' mascara is being quite clumped around the brush and considering this event only occurs once treating myself to a new mascara wouldn't harm anybody. I hardly own any products from '17' but I do intend on increasing my collection as their make up has never failed me at all.

Giving a high standard of length of volume to your lashes, this mascara is something that everybody should buy. I have standard sized eyelashes so this helps to build on that and create a good effect, darkening them slightly helping to make them stand out more. I know a few people have quite short eye lashes so I'm not sure on its performance but I'd imagine it helps a lot, retailing at £6.29 its very reasonable for a good product.

My last leavers do related product is this, now what I tell you next might be deemed as wrong and inappropriate for my age but I had thought about it for a long time. Due to everyone getting fake tanned for leavers, I wanted to avoid the orange look and sticky consistency that comes from that, so instead my mum hired a tanning bed to be placed in our house for 5 weeks, costing £90.

We've had it going on 3 weeks now and I haven't used it for that entire time period as I would be very dark by now and look stupid for the day. This past week and half of last week I've been going on the bed for 6 minutes then leaving a day or so gap and repeating. To help prevent my skin from drying up dramatically I bought this. It's a wonderful product, it replenishes your skin wonderfully and sinks in, in seconds leaving your skin non sticky.

I would use this on my entire body after I was dry from a shower and it works wonders, my skin is not dry in the slightest and it leaves a very nice subtle hint of mango on your skin. The smell isn't pungent and literally lasts an hour or so, if you have dry skin I'd recommend this, it only costs £2.99 for a 250 ml bottle and around £8.00 for a 500ml I believe.

Claws

Officially leaving school as my last exam was on Tuesday (geography) I've been able to get some touches sorted out for leavers this Friday. Taking a daring move I decided to opt with the 'Stiletto Nails' as they've grown on me over the past weeks. Compared to the original straight point, cat like nails I decided to have mine rounded off slightly, giving them the extra originality and edge. I got them done by a mobile nails beautician and they also cost £15 which is a very reasonable price for the good work that has been done at such short notice.

Along with this, I've purchased some curly hair extensions to add some extra length to my below the chin hair. Wearing them today through my little shopping trip, I am able to say they are suitable for the event, matching my hair colour so well it looks like my hair grew over night. I've bought a couple of products today for general use and for my leavers do, I will be putting up a little collective haul tomorrow with a quick initial review as I'm not using all products straight away.

The IT Crowd - Limited Edition

Being a fan of 'The IT Crowd' I thought, you guys might be appreciative of this. I know its late but there is a time limit so I'm unable to leave it till tomorrow morning/dinner. An online tshirt website called Qwertee has created a special 'IT crowd' related tshirt for the lowest price of only £8.

Now here's the catch, the shirt is only available to order for 23 hours from now. If you're reading this on the Sunday, then the time right now is 11:20 PM on Saturday night. This 23 hour limit however does not say there is a continuous amount of shirts to sell. Once they sell out even if the countdown has only lasted 3 hours they will shut it down and stop.

I will be quick to getting my order in before stock runs out, all sizes from S in men's and women's is available at the moment all the way up to XXL again in both sexes. Qwertee are known for their unique tshirt designs, with this being the second 'IT crowd' related one. Hopefully if you don't snatch one, more will be made (different designs) in the near future.

PINTEREST

Amongst my regular internet scanning, I've yet again come across a really interesting and fun website that I think you'll all be interested in. It has a similar concept that StumbleUpon has yet it does not use a page randomizer. It's called 'Pinterest' the idea behind this is on your profile you have a series of boards with different labels like 'Food I Enjoy', 'Places I Like' etc which you have photos attached to like a virtual pin board.

When you sign up, which can be done individually or through Twitter and/or Facebook you are given a selection of different things like 'Science', 'Animals', 'Food' etc if you are interested in the certain thing you then click on it. You are able to click on as many, or as little options as you want. This will then give the website an idea on who you should follow to start you off.

I've only created my own profile this morning but after hearing about it for the past few weeks, I decided it was something worth giving a go and it is something to really pass the time and give you inspiration if say you were redecorating or stuck for meal recipes. I would recommend giving this site a glace at, maybe poke a stick give it a chance.

Asos Wishlist #1

This is a selection of the newest shoes and clothes online for Asos this week, as you can see I've left out any accessory this time. I felt presenting you with two of their wonderful pairs of shoes would make up for this. Keeping on trend with creepers and flatform, Asos have created their own brand for half the price of most own brand and the original creepers.

These paisley leggings are a wonderful new addition, going through a slight obsession with this pattern myself, these leggings are a must. Mixing in black, white and grey into the one print, helping to give the leggings some edge allowing you to wear something plain on top or just as crazy.

Lastly is the pinstripe shirt, this style of shirt is a must in anybody's wardrobe. Wearing for a casual day out or dressing up for a night out or even for work this shirt adds a pop of colour to your outfit. Another interesting feature is the rolled up sleeves, not only are they a different contrasting colour, but an approximate 3cm of fabric above the sleeve is the same colour again giving the shirt an edge.

All of these new products are to die for and are very on trend, with their own little differences to stop you being another one in the herd. For all reasonable prices and sizes which is rare to find in successful stores nowadays, I would recommend you have a look at what Asos have to offer for this summer.

Blink-182 Manchester Gig

Last night was unreal, the support bands and the main band themselves blew me away! The line up was 'Twin Atlantic', 'The All American Rejects' and 'Blink-182'. It was wonderful. I arrived outside the venue with my friend for around 3pm, there was around 30 people roughly who were all very lovely. We just relaxed really, had some McDonalds and at 5:30pm everybody was allocated into different lines due to there being 7 different entrances.

At 6pm we were let inside, it was a frantic rush to get the another line which would lead us into the stalls (standing area). We were all given white wristbands with a blue zig zag pattern on so that we were entitled to receive our concert ticket back at the end. Once led down the many set of stairs everybody ran to the barrier, some being almost tackled be security to slow down. Thankfully me and my friend made it to the barrier, and then was instructed to sit on the floor until the first act came on.

The first act was 'Twin Atlantic' I've been a fan of this band for quite a while and only found out on the day that they were standing in place of another good band 'Four Year Strong'. Their set-list consisted of songs off their new album and their known single 'Free'. The boys performed very well and only played a short set of around 45 minutes.

Next to come on stage was 'The All American Rejects', these guys were known for their single 'Hope It Gives You Hell' a few years ago, bursting on stage to 'Dirty Little Secret' the crowd and myself jumped around crazily, singing along. The front man of this band - Tyson Ritter was a bundle of energy throughout the entire set. One of their crew members had their birthday celebrated on stage as well yesterday with a birthday ham, they also got to perform 30 seconds of their own band, which name I can't remember.

Then after a 30 minute wait, the glorious 'Blink-182' graced the stage. The energy in the room was sky high, performing all their known songs such as 'I Miss You', 'What's My Age Again?', 'Rock Show' etc a few of their older songs also went down a storm. A special performance of the song 'Wasting Time' was also done. Not being played in around 15 years, people were swaying along to the acoustic song, singing their hearts out.

I can't recommend enough to go watch 'Blink-182' they filled a big gap in my heart that night, I can guarantee the band will be back next year with another European Tour, that will probably be even better than this one. Growing up listening to the band from such a young age steered me into my music taste today, which to me is a wonderful thought. Below I'll leave some photo's I took of the support bands and the main band, enjoy!

Blink-182 Competition Winner!!

It's been a week or so since I gave the opportunity to win a new, untouched 'Blink-182' book which was released a few months ago, explaining their absence and what has happened since the boys were all over MTV.

I'm glad now to be able to announce the winner, and that is Addy Ringwald!! If you'd like to get in contact with me about your address so I send it to the right place then please message me on here and we shall arrange the passing of data.

Hopefully that has been a success for you as it has for me, I'm hoping to do another giveaway very soon, I'm just debating the method to go about and what to give away for next time. Hope you're all well, a post regarding my 'Blink-182' gig experience will be up tomorrow night.

Stiletto Nails

Considering my final, last exam is coming up in less than two weeks I was debating on what I could do that's different. I'm going to be bleaching half of my hair blonde, leaving the other half dark brown, but I though something else besides that was needed.

I've seen over You Tube recently by Beauty Crush this new style of nails, being the basic acrylics, they represent 'claws'. This would be a nice change to the normal square acrylics or jells that most people get as they've become quite tacky.

I'll post some pictures below on the style that Beauty Crush has recently got, opinions on these nails would be wonderful, whether they last long, are more difficult to operate things and are just generally good on the aesthetic value.

LookBook

I've decided to finally add my 'LookBook' account onto my blog page, I was going to do this a while back but only having one look up I decided against it. I'll be doing a few shoots over the weekend while I have spare time before my final exam.

If you could hype and/or comment on any of the photos that would be very appreciative, I intend to update my account every now and then but not as regular as this blog. I'll be sure to keep you up to date as to when I post new looks and if I plan any special shoots.

UPDATE | #6

Its very peculiar how I'm going to say that I've only got 3 exams left, in reality its only two subjects as my Maths exam is split into Calculator and Non-Calculator. My leavers do is on the 29th of this month which is also my nans birthday. It feels strange that after a month everything will be done and I'll never have to return ever.

I'm planning, (not mentioned this to my parents) to maybe have a congratulatory meal after they've all finished, only a small get together with my parents and grandparents. Hopefully everything will have gone smoothly and I wouldn't of failed everything haha. I bought another leavers dress for the party itself, I've opted for a more traditional dress that is royal blue. I'll do a post about it a few days prior to the occasion to keep it a surprise from my friends who read my blog.

I've got a 'Gogo Phillip' haul to write about, its only a few of their latest products and I've also go to write about my experience at 'Blink-182' which is happening this Friday. This Saturday I shall be visiting Manchester with a few friends to see what wonderful things I can buy, on that day I will be applying for a debit card as well so I'm able to make a Paypal account. This will help me with my decision of creating an 'Etsy Store' and 'Ebay Account, I might do both. But I will be doing an Ebay Account before the 'Etsy Store', I will be having clothes and jewellery that I've picked up along the lines on sale for reasonable prices.

Hope everyone luck if they have a Maths exam and/or History this week, thankfully I've not got History but Geography two weeks after those. I will be keeping you all posted and try and make some posts, at least 3 per week. Good luck again.

Croc The Crocodile

Over the previous weekend and bank holiday, I went on a little holiday like most families for one night at Pontins in Southport. I thought I would just show you a few photos I took during the break, I used to visit places like Pontins and Butlins every year when I was younger, but being in my teens now their activities don't really appeal to me, however having my little sister we jumped on the cheapness for her benefit.

The room we was in was very nice, having its own kitchen, living room then bathroom and two bedrooms, the facilities provided were very well presented and having wooden panels for flooring helped to keep the apartment clean, especially when my sister was eating anything. So I hope you like the photos, there's only a few but the weather was so nice it would be a crime to not take any.

[CLOSED] Blink Once, You'll Miss It. Blink 182 Times And You Won't

Ignoring the very cheesy title, I've decided to do my first giveaway. Now I'm not sure how successful this will turn out to be, only having a few followers but I'm going to give it a go anyway. 'Blink-182' are in the middle of their UK Tour with 'Four Years Strong' and 'All American Rejects' so I thought being a fan I would do a related giveaway.

I'm going to their first date in the North West - Manchester with a friend and few members of my family who have been fans when the band were at their peak. Coming back the band released a book explaining the up, downs and why they came back. I thought this would be ideal for any fan of the band. The book has been untouched and is in mint condition.

To win this book all you have to do is write the following words in the comments below 'Fagan pick me!' I will be putting everybody's user names into a random generator to receive the winner. There is no limit to how many times you can comment and the giveaway is available world wide because I'm that generous. It will end on the 15th of this month, being sent out the next day which is a Saturday. Let's hope you win!

The Best Of May

Being the first I've done of these type of blog posts, I decided to keep it pretty much unstructured to help me be more flexible in the future months, steering away from the traditional structure of mentioning a different foundation, perfume etc every month. I will have a variety from makeup, movies, films, holiday locations and other miscellaneous items. So I hope you enjoy something new and different to my blog.

THIS WEEK | Topshop Jubilee Wishlist #3

Living in the UK, these past four days have been part of the 'Jubilee Weekend'. We first encountered the start for the Olympic Torch passing its way through different cities and towns through out England, including my hometown of Wigan.

After this was the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebration ( 60 years on the throne ) a large concert was set up outside Buckingham Palace featuring artists such as Tom Jones, JLS, Robbie Williams and many more.

In comparison to dressing in the UK's flag colours ( red, white and blue ) I opted to keep in the latest trend of pastels. These key pieces are something of a simple nature yet all together have a very nice effect, bouncing off each other with their different aspects.

The weather has been very hot in England the past two weeks so the light weight material of the dress is able to keep you looking stylish, also preventing any over heating. Along with the sandals and shades to add a pop of colour, and belt to give definition to the waist, this outfit is a must have!
