HOW TO | Twist On PB & J Sandwich

With the Olympics happening right now in London, I thought inside of making a post about the opening ceremony which happened on Friday featuring the evolution of England through out the years etc I would do a little food orientated post. Britain don't really have strange combinations of food, everything is pretty straight forward. The closet we got to a weird desert was a deep fried mars bar, but being done in Scotland, some would not count that as Britain.

So instead I thought I'd do an adaptation of a well known snack / desert from England's best friend, America. If you're American I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about from the slang version in the title. For those who don't, I'm doing a take on the tradition peanut butter and jelly ( jam ) sandwich. It's very straight forward to make but I will be substituting the jelly part for nutella. Before I get comments on my option, I know nutella was manufactured in Italy however, the company are doing a competition right now to win a trip to London, so I thought this would fit in perfectly.

Precious Vinyl

I've been collecting vinyl now for roughly 5 months now, while searching traditional vinyl stores and looking through charity shops I've accumulated some very interesting albums and singles. Some of these are quite rare and would sell for quite some money but I choose to keep them and maybe pass them down when I'm older. So here they are, some of my prized vinyl.

THIS WEEK | Topshop Wishlist #4

Anything that is silver, or has silver features in it must be in my wardrobe. All things silver to me are the best colour to combine with clothes, shoes etc. In this weeks 'New In' section of Topshop I found these gems. Surprisingly there's nothing very London Olympics themed but quite the opposite, with neutral colours and the occasional over the top print.

I'm not a person to wear trainers / sneakers / high tops which ever term you use with an outfit, but these glitter high tops are an exception. Having the silver tones and glitter this item adds a feminine touch with the edgy aspect of it being a masculine shoe. I also noticed when selected a pair of sun glasses that the front portion has a dusty pink to it which looks wonderful.

The sun glasses are just a follow on from the small section of pink on the shoes, giving the whole outfit a pop of subtle colour without being overly bright. Same with the nail polish, there are averagely sized chunks of glitter in this nail polish giving your nails a nice cover are glittery goodness.

Black and white has been a classic combination and will always be until the sun expands too much causing civilization to be destroyed. The skater dress is also a classic, so putting these two things together, Topshop have designed something that will be flying off the shelves. The tiger print on the torso is what caught my eye, it gives the dress some personality - making you stand out from the crowd.

REVIEWED | 50/50

Last night I posted a picture of two DVD's on my instagram, one of them was called 'A Dangerous Method' which I have let to watch and the other '50/50'. I never thought I'd get to see this film as it was released in America and appeared to have been a flop considering its European release was just straight the DVD. The aspect of this film that caught my eye was the two main actors - Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogan. Both of these actors in my experience have been in great films, so I couldn't miss something with them both together.

There are a few other people in the film that I have noticed from other films such as Anna Kendrick, who plays the therapist for Adam ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt ). This film is based loosely on the experiences that Will Reiser went through during his fight with a rare cancer. Outlining the plot without giving much detail away, Adam a very calm and collected guy has been suffering with back pains for a few weeks. After consulting his doctor about the pain, we learn it is in fact a tumor growing down his spinal column. This shock turns his world up side down, facing home disappointments while his closet friend Kyle ( Seth Rogen ) try's to deal with the problem too.

As I mentioned previously there was no UK release in the cinemas which is a shame because I would be first in line to watch this film, however it was released in the USA on the 20th September last year, going onto DVD 18th January 2012. Owning this film on DVD will be something I'll be asking for, for my birthday this year as I feel it as a time less film. There is strong language, some drug use and a little sex scene involved but besides that, the film is clean. It's been rated as a 15 in England, but the age guidance varies between countries.

If you're looking for a film with a completely fresh view to facing cancer at such a young age then this film is for you. Don't let the word cancer make you immediately think this is a sad film through out, there are some comedy gold moments during nearly every scene and watching Joseph and Seth work together gives off a rare chemistry you don't see between many male lead roles.

Essie Polish Grabs

I'm sure at some point in your life you've heard the hype over 'Essie' nail polishes, being a regular You tube beauty guru watcher this brand is mentioned across the board hundreds of times. I'm a bit of a hoarder with nail polishes as I have multiple numbers of the same shade but different brand. I'd been anticipating on purchasing some Essie nail polish, however the price had put me off a little. For a single nail polish you would have to pay £10! Now a regular polish by for example Barry M would cost you no more than the £4 mark.

The most expensive nail polish I own is Blue Boy by Chanel which I purchased in euros while I was visiting Venice during Easter this year. If memory serves me right a single polish by that brand cost me roughly 18 euros, which really is a silly price but you do pay for the name. I heard through some You tubers that TK Maxx were stocking packs of Essie polishes for cheaper than the original price, so I jumped at the opportunity to salvage them.

Miniature Sale Haul

I visited Manchester the other week to do some recordings for a YouTuber that is close to me and decided to pick up some things as the sales are in full force right now in the UK. I didn't pick up as many things as I'd wish due to lack of money at the moment, but I hope some of the items might appeal to you.

The first thing I picked up was these book ends, in the next month or so I'll be moving house and starting college. I thought these quirky melted down vinyls would do wonders for the amount of new text books I'll have to use on a regular basis.

I picked these up from Urban Outfitters for a cheap £5, originally £10. Inside you get two melted down vinyls that are the exact same design as those on the box above. I've already tried these out with some books I already own and they work wonders. Would defiantly recommend picking these up before they go.

As well as starting college soon, I'll also being going on a family honeymoon to a location in Spain for a week. I'm not a regular swimmer, and hardly visit foreign countries any more so buying a new bikini was a requirement. Priced at £12 from £26 this is a bargain you can't miss out on for Topshop clothing.

This one has a really nice rose gold metal bar in the middle of the top half giving your boobs support (along with the halterneck strings) also making them look quite nice. The patter is very flattering to all body shapes, the soft tones would enhance to appearance of your tan as well.

This is the last item I bought from Topshop, being roughly 5ft 9 its hard to find a decent dress from any shop that has the proportions to where the waist goes in, the length and the hips due to them being under average proportions. With Topshop providing an excellent 'Tall' section I jumped at the chance to purchase this in the sales.

Again, being from the 'Tall' section, the prices of all clothing is slightly increased due to more material being used. This dress in particular was originally £38/£40, higher than the average Topshop dress. I was able to snatch this for £20 which is a bargain. Being light but thick material this dress is perfect for all seasons, I would purchase this again in separate colours, if available.

Smell Like Gaga

It was released on the 14th via Twitter that the go ahead is happening on the rumors of Lady Gaga's first perfume entitled 'Fame'. Now being a fellow fan of Gaga finding this out makes me 1. very excited and 2. feel the pain of my purse. It's been said in a statement that two versions of the perfume will be released. A small bottle classed as affordable, around $30 (£19/20) and then a considerably larger bottle over $70 (£44/45). Gaga has put no influence on her fans to purchase the more expensive version, but she names the $70 bottle as the 'masterpiece'. Is this a marketing trick to con people out of more than double the smaller bottles price or will there be secret additions added?

Banishing the rumors that her scent will contain animals blood and sperm, the scent instead will have a nice light floral smell, this of course will be more appealing to all markets apposed to the original scent. Now with Gaga being the extreme madam that we know her as, this straight forward basic perfume must have some surprise of twist to give it the Lady Gaga edge and it does. This is the first black fluid perfume, don't start panicking when the perfume is dispensed its a clear mist, which also goes invisible once dry.

It has been said that advertisements and posters for the upcoming scent will be displayed through out America during the start of September, I am unsure as to when the rest of the world will have the campaign displayed but a photo has been released worldwide (above) giving you the shape, style of the perfume and a cleverly hidden naked Gaga with what appears like semi naked men climbing all over her body.

So what do you think of the perfume, is she just after money putting a cheap scent in a bottle or do you think all her passion had been put in a bottle? Write your opinions below.

Madam Tussauds

The last weekend leading up to the wedding we all decided to visit Blackpool as a last outing I guess. We went on the beach for a while with my little sister to allow her to play around a little then we decided to have something to eat.

Having a walk down the pier we came across a place called Madam Tussauds, for those who are not familiar with such place, there was wax work figures of famous people. People like Alan Carr, Simon Cowell, Keith Lemon etc are located throughout the building with back drops that are connected to the particular character.

I took a few photos through the day of the variety of people there and of the day out besides Madam Tussauds, I'll put the photos under a read more for those who are not interested in seeing them. A little haul will be put up tomorrow as well from shopping during the weekend with a friend.

A Week To Go..

This time next week I shall be attending my mums and step-dads wedding ceremony, I have been assigned to be head bridesmaid meaning I shall be walking after my mum down to aisle. A royal blue and cream theme has been set, with all the bridesmaids dresses sorted (which are very fairy like) and other decorations.

I will be taking photos throughout the day hopefully if I'm not too busy. If I don't take my camera along I'll be sure to instagram my outfit and the brides as well after the ceremony. The reception afterwards will be set in a steak house, which is very rustic and quite alternative to the traditional venue ideal.

Thought I'd keep you updated with that big event coming up, it might hopefully explain my little week absence while last minutes items have been bought and touches made on certain aspects. I've got some other news, not as exciting as that coming up soon too.

Dark Brown Transition

I've kept you posted over the new hair look I've been going for, instead of a full head of har being dyed I've opted for only half. After my first lot of bleaching from 'B Blonde Medium To Dark Lightener' my hair went a ginger colour, with very blonde under-lights and some sections only going to a light brown.

Giving a week for my hair to breathe and start to slowly repair again I decided to do another session of bleach with a different dye. This dye was around the same price as the previous one under £7 and is also new on the market for hair lighteners, so I was unsure on whether it would work to its best.

I know a few people have been curious on how I've gone about this and how its gone, now the very end result I want it for my hair is to be white so I can choose the ideal blonde for the side of my hair. I'm thinking of doing maybe two more bleaches till I'll be happy with the result.

If you wanna hear about the product more, what you get inside and how I feel about the end result then please click below.

If You Go Out In The Woods Today..

Visited a local woodland area today with my family while it was a very nice sunny day in the North-West. I picked up some magazines and another lightening hair dye afterwards as well from Asda so the dark to light hair transition will be up tomorrow afternoon. So here's a few photos from today.

New start, new hair

Leaving high school I decided to start my regular hair dying process all over again, but this time I've gone for something off the ball and different to normal hair dying. I've only bleached half of my head. The plan is for one half to be blonde/white and the other my natural colour.

As my hair is naturally a dark colour, the first bleach causes it to go a ginger colour with lighter and darker tones throughout the section of hair. Using a strong 40 vol bleach, I was able to get the exact colour I want on my roots and under my hair, this indicates after two more dyes my entire head of hair will be the correct colour.

Before I dye it again to lighten the colour I thought I'd take some shots in some recent purchases to show you the contrast and how its turned out on the first shot. I will do a DIY on how to use traditional bleach once I go out and buy another dye.

Prom Time

Friday gone was my 'Prom' or 'Leavers' which ever term you prefer. I had, had numerous dresses bought prior to the event but eventually settled for a traditional royal blue dress. We all met at one persons house, waited for our white limo to arrive them drove to school for more photographs professionally done.

After that we went to a venue quite far away from the high school via coach for a three course meal, which lasted forever. It then followed a few speeches by head girl/boy then a few teachers, which presents were handed out. We were then allowed to go have a dance, get a drink and have more photos etc. Here's a few photos from the night.
