Topshop || Tall Section Weekly Selections #4

    Hello everybody, and hasn't it been some time since I've done these Topshop segments on here, I feel like I've done about 50 of these never mind only 4! Anyhow, I Topshop's tall section has been slacking recently so I've not really seen any motivational pieces to write about, however I've managed to snag four clothing items you can't miss out on.

Dove Tee || £16

    So the first item for this week is this lovely slouched tshirt, with a mirrored image of a dove which is just divine. I'm not normally a fan of graphic t shirts but simple images such as this on neutral backgrounds really catch my eye. I think this is a staple piece in anyone's wardrobe as this can be worn with a pop of colour, like in the image above or just very casual with your favourite pair of jeans.

Marble Skirt || £34

    The next item is quite a bold piece that has a rare element to it that I've not seen recently, and it's the hi-low effect. Now this was rather big last year and still strong this year for midi dresses and midi skirt, yet I've not seen it applied to 'mini' skirts. I think this is a great thing to do especially on the tall section of clothing, as I find skirts to be too high at the back risking me flashing about 50 people on a regular basis. This gives you the freedom to wear the skirt on it's own or with tights without worrying about the town seeing your knickers.

Shirt Dress || £42

    The third piece reminds me of something very similar that I bought from H&M last year, but didn't adapt the hi-low effect so I couldn't wear it for so long as I've grown again (ha). I think this piece is very adaptable for day and night and it something that would be very light for the warmer seasons, as the UK is getting quite warm at the moment. The elasticated waist band is a favourite of mine, allowing you to out a little bit of extra weight on one month but not causing the dress to look tighter, and visa versa. I also think you could pull this off for work if you had an office job, was a teacher or basically a career without a strict dress code. 

Split Back Maxi || £20

    The final piece for this post is one of the most essential pieces in a girls wardrobe for over summer and it's a simple, black maxi skirt. What I like about this one in particular is that it has a split at the back allowing air to circulate stopping you from getting very hot and sweaty. I also prefer a back split over a front split as well, because exposing the back of your legs is less sexy and revealing than the front. Primark are producing similar maxi skirt that are very cheap but are quite thin, so I'd definatly invest in something a little more expensive.

Dark Floral Print Joggers || £35

    The first clothing item for this weekly selections are these lovely dark joggers, that are elasticated around the waist and ankles. These fit straight into the sports luxe trend and although I was quite apprehensive towards this trend I'm quite partial to the comfortable aspect to the trend. Being a lazy, laid back dresser 80% of the time, I've been wearing my paisley elasticated joggers whenever the weather was suitable. The dark shades of green, black and a lighter lavender shade are extremely flattering to all figures especially if you're cautious of your hips/thighs. I'm quite swayed to purchasing these joggers as the material is slightly thicker than that of my paisley joggers, so they would be appropriate for all seasons.

Acid Denim Flippy Dress || £36

    The next piece is this lovely floppy denim skater styled dress with a lovely laced up back, acid wash is a trend that never goes out of fashion and it definitely won't over this summer. The two layers to the dress, creates a more summery tone and more character to the overall product. The detailing on the back, gives you extra space for your skin to breath stopping horrible summer sweats in awkward spaces. The simplistic nature of the dress allows you to layer up in the colder days with tights or thin t-shirts like in the picture above, this to me justifies the rather high price of £36 as it's a very versatile piece. 

Embroidered White Crop Top || £22

    The second to last piece is this lovely crop top that falls into the white trend which I made a post previously about (click here to read) as I said in the post, white is a brilliant shade to bring into spring/summer as it's very fresh and pure looking. The mesh section at the front enables your skin to breath but also gives an alternative and more edgy look to something rather plain. The embroidered detailing is also another aspect of the top that makes it stand out from the rest, as pairing this with a thick, chunky gold chain would enhance these patterns. 

Bodycon Denim Skirt || £26

    Finally my absolute favourite piece from this entire post, the denim skirt. I love this piece as it incorporates the latest pencil skirt trend with denim to toughen it up (also weather appropriate for the uk). This piece is bodycon, so it's very flatter hugging but paired with the right crop top, long tee or band tshirt you could manipulate any odd lumps and bumps to suit your shape. I feel a rather 90's nostalgia whenever I look at this skirt and I can imagine somebody with their hair up in a scrunchy (which are coming back too!), rocking some velvet garment while listening to their hit clips.

Tall || Neon Animal Midi Dress || £32

    I'm not the only one who is in love with the midi-dress trend and this dress helps to prove why, moving onto more summery clothes (even though the weather disagrees) the colours in this dress scream sunshine. I don't normally like leopard prints with out there colours such a pinks and blues, but this dress in an exception. I'd love to pair this with some silver jewelry to give it a more subtle look, for day to night looks. 

Tall || Hollywood Burnout Tee || £18

    Keeping it rather simple with the shirts, is this burnout tee that can be paired with absolutely anything. When the weather does heat up I tend to become super lazy with my outfits and prefer to wear a nice baggy t-shirt with a bodycon skirt and tights or some shorts, so something like this is ideal for that job. The neutral colours help you match this off with more elaborate prints, such as floral/aztec/pleather shorts and not look other the top.

Tall || Monochrome Aztec Vest || £12

    I chose this vest for more or less the same reasons for the shirt above, however the bell cut shape is this is very appealing to me as it proportions your hips out perfectly. Girls who are body conscious over the hotter months can wear these vests and not worry about their hips looking too wide, as this cut gives the illusion of slimmer hips as it falls into a semi-circle. The print on this is also very summery, and it proves that some trends (aztec) can stay around for more than one year which is great!

Tall || Viscose Quilted Sweater || £38

    Even though all of the items of clothes bar this jumper have been summery, we do have to be realistic for the UK weather as we've been having snowfall in March which is outrageous! This guilted jumper is perfect for keeping you nice and warm on cold college mornings but is also very on trend with the quilted effect. Subtle detailing like this allows you to keep it very casual or dress it up with a chunky necklace and some slim leg patterned trousers. 

Miniature Sale Haul

    I visited Manchester the other week to do some recordings for a YouTuber that is close to me and decided to pick up some things as the sales are in full force right now in the UK. I didn't pick up as many things as I'd wish due to lack of money at the moment, but I hope some of the items might appeal to you.

    The first thing I picked up was these book ends, in the next month or so I'll be moving house and starting college. I thought these quirky melted down vinyls would do wonders for the amount of new text books I'll have to use on a regular basis. 

    I picked these up from Urban Outfitters for a cheap £5, originally £10. Inside you get two melted down vinyls that are the exact same design as those on the box above. I've already tried these out with some books I already own and they work wonders. Would defiantly recommend picking these up before they go.

    As well as starting college soon, I'll also being going on a family honeymoon to a location in Spain for a week. I'm not a regular swimmer, and hardly visit foreign countries any more so buying a new bikini was a requirement. Priced at £12 from £26 this is a bargain you can't miss out on for Topshop clothing.

    This one has a really nice rose gold metal bar in the middle of the top half giving your boobs support (along with the halterneck strings) also making them look quite nice. The patter is very flattering to all body shapes, the soft tones would enhance to appearance of your tan as well.

    This is the last item I bought from Topshop, being roughly 5ft 9 its hard to find a decent dress from any shop that has the proportions to where the waist goes in, the length and the hips due to them being under average proportions. With Topshop providing an excellent 'Tall' section I jumped at the chance to purchase this in the sales.

    Again, being from the 'Tall' section, the prices of all clothing is slightly increased due to more material being used. This dress in particular was originally £38/£40, higher than the average Topshop dress. I was able to snatch this for £20 which is a bargain. Being light but thick material this dress is perfect for all seasons, I would purchase this again in separate colours, if available.
