Trend Of The Month #3 || White

    Like most girls (I believe), I've hidden away from white clothing in fear of ruining the material from or the light shade not being flattering enough for my curvy figure. Over the past couple of months, I've felt my personal style fluctuate dramatically going for more daring pieces in my wardrobe. I feel the white trend is something that's going to hit off over the summer period as it will heighten your tan and increase the summary feeling.

Topshop || Tall Section Weekly Selections #1

Tall Polka Dot Body-con Dress || £29.00
    Thought I'd start off with a rather universal piece of clothing, and it's this navy blue body-con dress. I think these dresses are extremely flattering to all shapes, and can be dressed up and down with some tweaking of accessories! Now with this post being aimed towards Topshop's Tall Section, this dress is designed for ladies 5ft 7 and taller. I can't stress enough how hard it is to keep a dress you love without it shrinking up to your bottom after a few washes, but with extra inches added its impossible!

    The polka dot pattern is also another feature that I personally feel is universal, compared to other patterns such as strips that can make you appear a little tubbier than you actually all. Overall this dress is something I'm defiantly going to pick up on my next trip to Topshop and will be wearing it like crazy over spring/summer.

Tall Crochet Vest || £36.00
    The next item is aimed towards summer when it's getting quite warm and it's this crochet vest. I'm normally not a fan of vests even in the summer as they normally are over done with extreme patterns or are too plain. However Topshop have found the middle ground with the crochet/lace layer over the top of a plain vest. Something I quite like about this vest is that the patterned material runs past the end of the vets, translating onto maybe your shorts, leggings, jeans etc. This is a nice touch as the contrast of colour will really make the top half stand out.

    Another thing I like about crochet material is that it is quite versatile in different heats. I'm not sure whether this happens with me personally but I find the material is able to keep me cool when it's hot and warmer when it's a bit breezy. The gaps in the thick material enable this switch in temperature, which is pretty handy to bring this piece from summer into winter later in the year.

Tall Contrast Tee Dress || £42.00
    Next piece is another dress (I'm dress obsessed) and it's this lovely contrasting tee print dress. I remember seeing something along these lines during winter last year and never had chance to pick it up, but thankfully Topshop have brought it back for spring/summer. I really like how the prints work well together because they're both grey/white/black, where as if one was a bright, bold colour I don't think it would of worked so well.

    Again I really love Topshop's Tall dresses because you are able to wear and keep them for a long time without them shrinking too much. I haven't put this theory into practice, but if your of average height and fancy a knee/calf length dress, I'm sure the Tall section with do you some justice without looking too frumpy. (Tell me in the comments if you've done this!)

Tall Lasercut Waist Playsuit || £46.00
    The last item I'm really loving is this vibrant and bold playsuit. Same rules apply on how amazing the Tall section is for adding those extra inches, if you're not so happy about parading your legs about getting a Tall section playsuit is your best option. The cut of the legs rests in the middle of your thigh, showing some legs but not baring all.

    The boldness instantly reminded me of summer and ice creams, the beach and holidays. I think this piece will be wonderful for the up-coming season, the lattice print gives the outfit some attitude allowing you to keep it plain with no accessories if it's too hot. If you want to dress it up for a night out, I would recommend gold jewellery to really make the outfit pop!

Favourite Items for SS13 (((So Far)))

    It's that time again to discuss my favourite products for the latest season, as always all of these items of clothes/shoes are from Topshop and links to each will be left under each photograph. If you've been looking through Topshop lately tell me your views on their latest SS13 picks!

'Peterpan Flower Flippy Dress' || £48.00
    This first clothing item is not actually featured in Topshop's SS13 collection for 'floral' wear, but the delicate, weightless flowers across the waist really caught my eye. The floral trend this year is extremely patterned  almost reminiscent of the jungle. I personally found the patterns too over powering, so this is the more subtle alternative which is still abiding by the floral trend.
'Floral Jacquard Trousers' || £50.00
    Next up are another item in the 'floral' category and it's these Jacquard Trousers. With darker shades of oranges, reds and browns these trousers could be universally worn no matter what size you are. The colours and shape of the trousers make your hips appear smaller while elongating your legs, no matter how small or tall you are.
'Embroidered Tiger Sweater' || £32.00
    Bold print as you would of guessed from the floral trend are very big and in for SS13. This is my favourite piece out of them all, as it's vivid but due to the subtle green can be dressed up and down. The embroidery on the the chest is outstanding and you can tell you're paying for a good quality jumper. Piece this with a chunky gold chain and some indigo jeans and you've got an outstanding outfit for SS13.
'Cut Out Boots' || £85.00
    The last item are these bold white boots, these can defiantly be a statement piece to anybody's wardrobe. Whether you're going along with the new trends or not, you can't miss out on some killer white, cut out boots! The cut outs allow you to maybe show off some of your tan in the summer, or a tattoo that's always covered up in winter. Regardless these boots are a hot purchase and go perfectly with the 'white' trend!

The Day I Let My Mum Take Photo's

     Being a reader of Company magazine I, like many others this month would of seen the Street Style competition in association with River Island. After reading it I was determined to enter to hopefully win, after taking my photographs I decided to read the terms and conditions on River Island's website. Mistakenly I found out each applicant must be 18 years and over, typically being 17 I was unable to apply. However I thought I would show you the best of my application photo's anyway as I really like them and think they aren't so bad. If you're applying tell me in the comment below I'd love to see your style!

OCTOBER | Wish List

    Falling back into sync of blogging, I've seen so many beautiful products that I want to just snap up straight away. Unfortunately I'm pretty strapped for cash recently, so I must admire from afar and why not let you share my pain (joke), admiring them together. A few of these items have come out a couple of months ago but I'm still as desperate to buy them. All the links to the products will be at the very end of the post, in chronological order. Enjoy!

   If you're a fan of Agyness Deyn you will know straight away why her name and these shoes are being thrown together. The British model teamed up with Doc Martens bringing out her own shoe range and clothes collection, these are one of my favourite pieces from the range. Having the grunge 1990's vibe to them, these are a great item to bring into fall which will keep your feet warm and dry in the colder and wetter season. These shoes cost around £150, which is quite expensive for a boot however these bad boys will last you a good 10 years, so you get your moneys worth.

    I wasn't joking about Agyness Dean's collection being beautiful, as another product has made it onto my 'wish list'. It is this long t-shirt/dress combination, which is brilliant for the new season. As you can see from the photo above, there is a longer back to the front, covering your bottom successfully. The simplicity of this piece makes it so appealing to me, as you can wear it with anything in your wardrobe and it'll look great. Again a pricey item at £35 brand new, although the equivalent of this design could cost £5 more in Topshop. Making this more reasonable to pay so much.

    On the subject of Topshop, this t-shirt is after my own heart. All the aspects scream "Buy me Melissa!" the print of a cats face is wonderful as I love cats, the sleeves are longer than normal so it wouldn't be annoying, its black so it matches everything and the oversized shape of it makes me imagine it being comfortable and so wearable. I'm sure you can see a recurring theme of dark, gothic items in this post. Considering we're peaking on Halloween now and Christmas only 60 days away, it only seems appropriate to pull out my grunge self to match the daily weather. This t-shirt is more reasonable, priced at only £20 however the material does seem quite thin, so layering would be required.

    Now completely contradicting myself on the dark, gothic theme. I've fallen in love for this little rose gold metallic clutch. This can be, and I believe is supposed to be used as a clutch but I would use this as a makeup bag. The bag I have at the moment is filled with pencil sharpenings and is generally disgusting, so this would be a nice alternative to my dark navy blue scalloped bag. Keeping in the the trend of metallic  this piece is simple, with a nice slogan across the front. Being only £10 you could treat yourself (see what I did there) to this, or purchase it as a really nice present.

Asos Wishlist #1

    This is a selection of the newest shoes and clothes online for Asos this week, as you can see I've left out any accessory this time. I felt presenting you with two of their wonderful pairs of shoes would make up for this. Keeping on trend with creepers and flatform, Asos have created their own brand for half the price of most own brand and the original creepers.

    These paisley leggings are a wonderful new addition, going through a slight obsession with this pattern myself, these leggings are a must. Mixing in black, white and grey into the one print, helping to give the leggings some edge allowing you to wear something plain on top or just as crazy.

    Lastly is the pinstripe shirt, this style of shirt is a must in anybody's wardrobe. Wearing for a casual day out or dressing up for a night out or even for work this shirt adds a pop of colour to your outfit. Another interesting feature is the rolled up sleeves, not only are they a different contrasting colour, but an approximate 3cm of fabric above the sleeve is the same colour again giving the shirt an edge.

    All of these new products are to die for and are very on trend, with their own little differences to stop you being another one in the herd. For all reasonable prices and sizes which is rare to find in successful stores nowadays, I would recommend you have a look at what Asos have to offer for this summer.

THIS WEEK | Topshop Jubilee Wishlist #3

    Living in the UK, these past four days have been part of the 'Jubilee Weekend'. We first encountered the start for the Olympic Torch passing its way through different cities and towns through out England, including my hometown of Wigan.

    After this was the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebration ( 60 years on the throne ) a large concert was set up outside Buckingham Palace featuring artists such as Tom Jones, JLS, Robbie Williams and many more.

    In comparison to dressing in the UK's flag colours ( red, white and blue ) I opted to keep in the latest trend of pastels. These key pieces are something of a simple nature yet all together have a very nice effect, bouncing off each other with their different aspects.

    The weather has been very hot in England the past two weeks so the light weight material of the dress is able to keep you looking stylish, also preventing any over heating. Along with the sandals and shades to add a pop of colour, and belt to give definition to the waist, this outfit is a must have!

Should I, Should I Not?

    With getting a debit card quite soon I was debating on setting up an Ebay account (fagansfinds) and selling off clothes and other miscellaneous items that I present on here or things that I just don't want. I could do that, or open an etsy store. Being able to make something would be quite therapeutic and enjoyable, I would have to have a brain storming session and see what people are after for a reasonable price of course. Feed back on this would be wonderful to help me make a final decision, I might do the etsy store once all my exams are over to give me time to make every item to the highest quality possible, so what do you think?

THIS WEEK | Topshop Wishlist #2

Crystal Embellished Playsuit - £90
    Since the return of Marina and the Diamonds, it appears that high street stores have taken to her new rejuvenated style. As Topshop call it 'Prom Queen Dreams' sparkles and glitter is generously doused on every piece of clothing, a woman's dreams.

    With summer coming up, this is the perfect look to head out and stock up on a.s.a.p. Bringing back the thick, chunky golden chain with huge glittery charms attached it instantly lifts whatever you are wearing. Another key piece to this style is neon and/or baby pink lipstick and blusher. Even if the over power of glitter or gems is too much for you to pull off, a simple bright lip gives your outfit a whole new look and attitude.

    And if that's not enough to make an outfit, the classic pearl earring has not returned but resurfaced. Whether it's the traditional oyster shade or pastel blue/pink they suit absolutely anything especially 'prom queen'.

    Not all of these pieces are extremely expensive either, with sequined shorts at £40 and jewellery starting from only £8.50 this style is feasible to all people without breaking the bank too hard. To be linked to the new look click here, I'll leave some of the pieces below so you can have a sneak peak without going on the website.
