REVIEWED | YSL 'Shocking' Mascara

I'm quite an avid fan of different mascaras, I tend to find my 'favourite' for a couple of months then discover the next best thing and once again that has happened while on my flight to Fuerteventura. I'm normally a high street kinda girl when it comes down to mascaras, as I begrudge spending so much on a product that I can get just as good quality for £7. On the outgoing flight, while I was having a nap my mum decided to treat me and purchase me a bottle of YSL's shocking mascara.

I've never used any YSL products in the past, although they look so lovely and of a very high quality. My mum is quite partial to some YSL products as she's a big fan of their concealers, highlighters and eyeshadows. So I was doing back flips when I woke up to the little gift, the mascara was bought in euros so I'm not 100% on the accurate pricing but in the UK it varies from £20.00 - £23.00.

Having quite average to long eyelashes is always a plus side when purchasing a new mascara but I must say I was expecting miracles from something of that price range and I wasn't disappointed. The head of the wand is slightly angled upwards, allowing you to get right into the corners of your eyes boosting the volume. Doing an upward wiggling motion I apply the mascara several times continuously then allow it to dry, achieving full eyelashes. The mascara is very quick to dry, so I wouldn't be fiddling around doing other tasks while applying otherwise you'll get half full lashes and have to apply it all over again.

Overall, I definitely recommend buying this product if you have a bit of money to splash out on something for your lashes as it's worth all of those pennies! I'm feeling the urge to dive into other YSL products such as their eyeshadows in hope for another successful outcome!
